I have the approval from DOL which my company sent with me, and also the Receipt of I140 which they got after my I140 was filed.
I was just curious, where it can be found, under which category my GC is being processed.
As you said the DOL web site, can you tell me what the url will be, and where to look at.

If look at you at Pappu's announcement, it is certian that core team knows what fix is going to be. And he let members to guess and speculate.
This GC became more like lottery. I sent my documents to lawyer on Jun 25th and he did not file on 2nd and now he is asking me whether to file or not. If my lawyer and employer are that cooperative, I do not need to waste my time on this forum.

I was wondering if there is any update available from this meeting?
Lot of people from participated in the conference call and asked specifically about concurrent July/August filer I-140 backlogs and TSc discrimination. Ombudsman and USCIS people replied that they are aware of the problem, tried to get response from TSC but TSC is apparently not replying to their request for Information. They said that they shall post the info as soon as it is available (god knows when). They asked everybody to submit form 7001 to Ombudsman so that he can escalate the issue. Let us see if anything comes out of this.

pappu, the only way the labor can be transferred to new company is if the 485 has been filed for more than 180 days.
in this case, since he is unable to file 485 due to retrogression, the labor is not transferable. what may be transferable is the priority date.

all i can say is they are taking us for granted. If we don't do anything about it they will continue to do this again and again. We should fight back. Put a lawsuit. I have take a vacation to get the documents done and also pay for my medical exam. Which costed me lot of money. I don't mind spending few more to fight for what was taken away from me..

What do you mean "both the employers are consultant" ? When they employ you and you work on assignments for them, you become a "consultant" for them. Consultant means "An expert who gives advice", considering you good at the subject you are called an expert.
Without knowing anything about the company no one will be able to suggest you which is good or bad. Apart from the salary & the benefits they offer, you have to take a decision.

No disrespect but , 400$ biweekly seems ok to me ...It depends on how you are employed , If you are working on percentage basis then companies may charge full insurance to you , If you are employed its a different case .
I agree - I used to work for desi employer before and used to pay around that much for insurance at least for few months until my wife started working and we moved into her insurance.
Working om percentage basis with desi employer does look good if your billing rate is good and you are constantly having projects without any breaks.
When you work on percentage you must remember that payroll tax, benefits, costs towards visa, GC expenses and any other costs associated - the employer tends to deduct from your percentage and will only share the profits and will not take responsibility for losses.
If you join a decent company with proper HR and accounts department - you wont have these issues.

I think timesofindia has a right to report news. They are not a lobby group ..they are a newspaper. Give them a break.
Although I do agree It is a poor quality newspaper, You can clearly see cheap shots on its main webpage.and the news selection for headlines is extremly british tabloid kind...flashy and worthless .
They also run "economictimes" for business news, which is considered premier business newspaper in india... I feel really disappointed when
I compare its quality with "wall street journal" or "businessweek".

Why do you need to go to Canada ? If your you have I797 you are approved and can start working with adjustment of status. Am I missing something ?
